Do you see her?

Chloe! We made these hair ties too! One pony tail holder and lots of fabric. Kind of like what they do with the flip flops at camp.

Maddie and Emilie....what the heck is Maddie doing? Is she yelling at Sponge Bob?

Deja celebrated her birthday with lots of friends, had a slumber party, pizza, cake, frozen shirts, pancakes, and lots of girlie screams! What more could you ask for at 8 years old? I think that they all had a good time. Bye the way, her birthday was May15th and her party was not til the first weekend in June. I'm just a little late!

Washington D.C.

Rob and I went to Washington D.C. for the first time on May 14th. Our main reason for going was this Son, Husband, Daddy, and (Rob's) Nephew above...and now a Graduate of George Washington Law School. Levi has worked so hard to be where he is now, everyone is so very proud of everything that he has accomplished in life so far! I'm there that there is a lot more to come from him.

Misc. pictures....First Rob's mom Sally and her sister Jeannie, they were in D.C. too. Middle: Thats me; Rob took this picture while we were at Gettysburg. Last but not least: Levi, Grandma, and Rob...this was actually at Mt. Vernon.

"Mt Vernon"

This is where our first president George Washington lived...did you know that he had never lived in The White House? Well now you know. The picture of the house is actually the back of the house; the front door is on the other side facing the Potomac River. The picture of the river is the veiw from the front door.
The two bottom pictures are of the burial places. The first and the now current location.

"Washington D.C. Metro"
If you have not been there to D.C. before. I would suggest you learn about the Metro. This was so nice to get from place to place and it was pretty fast and not to expensive.

"Our Nations Capital"
There were so many pictures to choose from. We also got to see the Senate Floor, but no pictures allowed.

"Arlington Cemetery"
This is one of the several men that guard The Tomb of the Unknow. These men have to take a very strict oath to become a gaurd for the Tomb of the Unknown. They have to go through special training to do their jobs and learn how many steps to take, how to move their foot when they stop, how to move their gun as they switch directions, and so many other things. This is a two year commitment and once they are done that oath that they take....they can not longer for the rest of their life...drink, swear, or smoke...I'm sure that there is more to their restriction. This was very cool to actually see the changing of the guard and know that I have been there.

"Antietam Battlefield"
This was the bloodiest one day battle in America. There was 23,000 solder's that died there in one day September 17, 1862.

We had Clark for the day while Levi and his wife Bonnie and something to do, so he went with us to Gettysburg and Antietam Battlefield. I don't think that Clark was suppose to play in the water....but he did and had a lot of fun doing it.

"The White House"
Rob and I in front of The White House and the other side is Jeannie, me, Penney, and Bonnie in front of The White House. We did a night tour by bus; at first I wasn't sure about doing the night tour. I would highly recommend this for everyone, unless you have a car and a tour guide to drive you around.

"Jefferson Memorial"
We went here on the bus tour too. FYI you can't get here from the Metro. I loved the colors of the sunset so I had to take a picture.

"Lincoln Memorial"
The best time to see all the memorials is at night. The night and the lights make all the monuments look better.

"Library of Congress"
This wasn't really on my list of places to go, but when I was told about the inside of the building I had to go and see for my self.

We had a great time there is D.C., although it was a lot of family for a week long time. Not a bad thing but it's not completely easy to be everyone for such a long period of time. You could be in that place for 3 years and not see everything. The museums are only open from 10-5 so unless your there for like 3 weeks you won't be able to see all the museums. We also went to the Pentagon and went on a tour...but again no pictures allowed. We saw the memorial from the September 11th crash and that was very moving to see.

Thanks for reading about our trip!

Spiral Jetty and The Salty Flats

Man made Jetty made by Robert Smithson in 1970 from black Balsalt rocks. This is past the Golden Spike National Historical Site.....it was a rocky road, specially in my car. There was a ton of rocks drive over to get to it. I thought that we were going to be high centered a couple of times. It was a fun addition to continue to from The Golden Spike.

This is Emilie jumping on the Salt. I had never been out here before....it was kind of smelly and yet pretty cool. It looks like she is jumping out of the water, but really she is just jumping on rock hard salt! Not to mention she was scared to jump. I think that she thought she would have fallin' through the salt or something.

Lacy dancin' on the Salt! Emilie is now playing U10 and Deja is play U9....Can you say PAY ME? Who would have ever thought that it could seriously cost so much money to put your kids in sports. Soccer is not a poor man sport. Between each of the registration fees, uniforms, refs, tournaments, and whatever else comes up....we are almost going to be sittin' pretty in the homeless shelter. Ok, that is not even funny to think about. Soccer is the reason why my blog is suffering. I am also the team manager, money collector, and check maker for Emilie's team. It is a lot of fun and at the same time a ton of work.

I had to put the RED shoes up there, because at the end of this past years season Emilie needed new shoes and I made her get RED for UTAH. That also explains the RED and Black ball too!

Soon there will be new pictures, starting with my Mother's Day events!

My house is for sale!

I had to share!

That's all there is to it, it's funny and you all needed to see what I saw on Nana's Kitchen blog...thanks Tammy! We started driving and didn't really know where we were going. We drove out south and then went way west, Rob says "I wonder if we could get up to the mine?". So we started driving out in that direction and went through a little getto town and it told us to turn around and go to 12400 South and whatever way west road we were on. Low and behold the mine was open and the visitor's center was open. I had never been out there and neither have the girls. Rob hasn't been out there since he was a little boy. It was a fun new adventure for the Veale Family.

Rain and Bloom

Last week was pretty rainy here in northern Utah. Just kidding! She is a loving yet mean little girl. She does anything that she can to get mostly Emilie going...she tries hurter her feelings first, if that doesn't work then she moves on to take something or do something to her...or anyone close enough to get at. Why oh Why are they so different?

I love my girl so much and I wouldn't trade them for anything, but why is one so nice and the other not? Why does one love school and everything about and the other one doesn't? Did I do something wrong as a parent as a mommy? Were they might to be a single child? Is this payback for something that I did when I was younger? I was a good kid....I promise!

And advise would be great!

Please help me!

Sister's and Basketball

Day at the park and a little B-Ball challenge.

Lacy is 19 and most of you know that she played Basketball for Woods Cross High School, she graduated last school year. Emilie; well she just likes to go and steal the ball from Lacy because she is the little sister and she thinks it's funny. So there was a friendly game of share and take away with the basketball. My camera is still set on manual and I'm still learning. But I thought that these pictures turned out good and I decided that I'd better share them. All three of my girls have some sport to them. More to come....

Attempts...

Ok, so I was playing with my camera on Monday night and some pictures came out good and others not as well. But I will continue and NOT give up. Isn't that what you have to do to get better at anything? Practice, Practice, Practice.....Practice makes perfect...or at least better.

Emilie and Deja in our little tree outside our house....no stalking my tree!!!

Deja in our little tree...I like this one better than the one of the two of them.

Check out them BLUE eyes! We enjoy going on drives as a family. The girls pack their DS's and on our way we are. I took a few different pictures and then played with them in Lightroom. Lightroom is a really fun program, but I don't really know much about it. And for those of you that don't know, I am taking a beginning photography class this next Saturday the 14th of March. I'm very excited. One of our assignments prior to the class was to switch our camera into the "P" Mode which is where you are only switching the ISO. So I played around and my husband is good at picking out the pictures and I get out the camera.

This is a picture of the mountains towards Tooele or Wendover area from a road that goes out by Five Mile Pass. This is also played with in Lightroom. Pretty cool huh?

Emilie by a sign in Ophir, this is a little mining town along the road that we were driving on. Also played with in Lightroom. Also, I'm not sure why that white boxed stayed on the picture.

Deja by The Great Salt Lake, I was playing around with different settings and I really liked this picture of Deja.

Our most recent purchases

Deja's most very FAVORITE movie! Mamma Mia

Emilie's newest movie wanted....High School Musical 3

We didn't go see Mamma Mia in the theater, but rented it when it first came out on DVD. Deja watched it once and was hooked for life. She watched this movie over and over and over again for the week that we had it rented. Then the next time we went to rent movies...you'll never guess what she wanted to rent again! So, I told her that we would just buy it next time we made our trex over to Wal-Mart I would buy it for her. It's been a while since it came out, but we finally made it to Wal-Mart last night. We bought both movies, since Emilie begged and begged for us to go buy HSM 3 when it came out. I thought I better go get it this week before they up the price by $5 bucks!

Can you just imagine what will be on our TV this weekend? We are going to have to dedicate one day to Mamma Mia for Deja. So I think it's safe to say that these are Emilie's photography abilities.

Above: Lacy (Not touching) and Shaela. They were laughing pretty hard after seeing this on the camera.

Above: Last but not least....the Baby Deja. Isn't she so stinkin' cute? I love the little bob hair do on her and the THREE missing teeth!

So, Lacy turned 19 on the 8th of January. I'm finally getting these pictures posted on the blog. There were a ton of silly picutres. I think that my little girls are going to be scared for life with some of things that Lacy and Shaela do. It's about having fun though right. Lacy had a birthday week...first we went to Texas Roadhouse for dinner on Monday and then bowling on Wednesday and then her birthday was on Thursday, we went shopping for clothes on Saturday. And lucky her she started her new job that following monday at Discover Card.

Lacy, we LOVE you forever and always! Hope you had a great birthday week....you spoiled BRAT!

Bedtime Stories!

Movie for today...."Bedtime Stories"

We went to see Bedtime Stories today...it was good, but I think that Marley and Me was still better. I like watching basketball...I can understand that game. So anyway, we love U of U and loved watching (for me knowing) that they kicked butt in the Sugar Bowl.

While the guys were screaming and yelling at the TV I enjoyed taking goofy pictures of them. I did get another good one of Rob and Dan, but decided they were not going to posted today. No reason, they just aren't. So instead you get my edited picture of Shaela, Lacy, and Scott! Emilie wasn't home, and Deja was MIA.

"GO UTAH"

Another Priceless Photo

Rob and Dan

Another Priceless photo of the two of these goofy guys. This one was asked for as the others in the past were just natural. This is at our house on New Years Eve prior to the lighting to the bottle rockets that were shot off. Sorry Marilyn if we woke you up, I was told that one of the rockets landed close to your bedroom window. Lacy's jacket caught a few sparks, Scott sweatshirt, and Dan's pants did too. Good thing that we were all nice enough to put the fires out.

Christmas Eve 2008

Lacy and Scott

I don't know who was taking picture with my little camera...but either Lacy or Rob took this silly picture of Scott and Lacy.
