Spiral Jetty and The Salty Flats

Man made Jetty made by Robert Smithson in 1970 from black Balsalt rocks. This is past the Golden Spike National Historical Site.....it was a rocky road, specially in my car. There was a ton of rocks drive over to get to it. I thought that we were going to be high centered a couple of times. It was a fun addition to continue to from The Golden Spike.

This is Emilie jumping on the Salt. I had never been out here before....it was kind of smelly and yet pretty cool. It looks like she is jumping out of the water, but really she is just jumping on rock hard salt! Not to mention she was scared to jump. I think that she thought she would have fallin' through the salt or something.

Lacy dancin' on the Salt! You can even see that she still has her shoes on.

Deja is digging in the salt.
We had a great Mother's Day adventure! We even got home to a nicely cooked Spoon Roast that had been cooking in the crockpot all day...it was so full of juices and so yummy!
